FAQ’s

I want your family photography session to be FUN! My goal is to provide you with a genuinely enjoyable experience from beginning to end. I will guide you through posing so that we can create artistic shots that feel comfortable and showcase the connection between you and your loved ones.

While I pride myself in being able to perfect poses to make sure everyone looks their absolute best, I tend to favor the more candid, authentic moments during your session.

All family portraits take place at outdoor locations. If you have a preference of a location, we can discuss that during our consult.

  • First and foremost, I want you to be comfortable. Since we'll most likely be outdoors, make sure to dress for the weather that day.

    Clothing that is more fitted to the body, rather than big and flowy, shoots better for pictures. Also, solid colors work better for photos than stripes.

  • Family portraits are always done outdoors. It's great for kids to run, play and be themselves. Candids and "posed candids" I feel give the most natural and best results. We'll also do some group posed shots and just the kids.

  • Family portraits require flexibility. If it's way to hot, cold, windy, rainy or snowy out, we will reschedule to another date.

    If the weather is tolerable with one of natures elements going on, we will still shoot the session.

  • Turnaround time for family portraits is 1-2 weeks. Once you have had a chance to review the photos in your online galley, we can convene virtually and I can help you select which images and products makes the most sense for you and your family.

  • Absolutely! Pets are family too and I'm such an animal lover! Make sure your pet is well groomed. And bring some pet toys, treats and if it's a hot day, please bring some water.

  • Family portraits are for up to 8 people. If you would like to have more family members in the shoot, feel free to take a look at my extended family session.

    Some families choose an album, or an album collection (with prints and digital images also included). Other people select a large print for the wall, or a set of smaller images. Often families choose to buy all the digital image files so that they can print these themselves.

  • My marketing is almost entirely through word of mouth, and it’s really important for me to be able to show my work to other families. So, images that I take may occasionally be shared on my website and/or business social media for this purpose.

    If there is ever an image shared online that you are not happy with, then I would always remove this for you with no issues at all. If you prefer to not to have any of your images appear online anywhere at all, then this is no problem, please just let me know.

  • Yes, I love to travel! If you're greater than 45 minutes from me, I will require travel expense. If you're more than two hours from me, I will require travel cost and a hotel/airbnb for two nights.
