A great wedding gift for your man! No doubt this would be a gift he's for sure not to top! Boudoir photos are absolutely priceless and will leave him on the floor breathless!
"AL made this session very fun and comfortable. After looking at the finished product, I had no idea that I could look as good as I did! I was brought to tears. I will definitely book another session in the near future. Thank you for everything! What great experience!"

This is the most commonly asked question. No, you do not have to be nude for a boudoir session. This is your session and YOU decide how much you want to show. If nudity isn't your thing, then don't do it.
If you feel uncomfortable about nudity, you can wear lingerie, do implied nudity, wear something less revealing. I've had many clients not feeling comfortable with nudity and by the middle of the session, they've changed their minds. It's all about your comfort level.
Sometimes it depends on if the session is a gift for your man and how much you'd like to reveal for him or maybe it's just a session for yourself to celebrate a milestone in your life.
Whichever the reason you chose to do your session, I can promise that you will feel comfortable in your skin and even help you find self-acceptance.
We will go over your comfort level during the consult, so both parties know exactly what you want and don't want.
Below is a dew ideas for your session...
IMPLIED NUDITY
You look like you might be naked, but you can’t see any bits – it’s all left to the imagination.
It could mean showing some curves, showing your bare back, or a bedsheet or prop is covering important parts.
BODYSCAPES
This is generally nude, but without your face in the photograph. It’s a play of light and shadow, and often focuses in on one body part, sometimes to the point where it’s not immediately obvious what is shown.
Many of these focus on curves of your body, and sometimes can be mistaken for landscape photographs! We can’t show these online, but visit us to see some examples.
FULLY NUDE
Even naked, there is a range of differences. You could be cute and bubbly, you could be sensual and suggestive. Discuss with us what you want to celebrate about who you are.

I recommend choosing 4-6 outfits for your boudoir session. We'll talk about the clothing you have and how you feel about them and whether they'll photograph well or not. We'll also talk about what you love about your body and what you want to show off vs the things you may be feeling a little insecure about.
1-2 BODYSUITS/TEDDIES
These look great on every single body type. Look for ones that flatter your natural waist and provide the level of support you want in the chest. Bodysuits that have interesting or pretty backs with a cheeky or thong cut, make for great photos.
-
INVERTED TRIANGLE BODY TYPE
This means your hip measurement is smaller than your waist which is smaller than your chest measurement. If this is your body type, you probably want to show off your chest and add volume to your hips!
BODYSUITS AND TEDDIES
Bodysuits and teddies are always a good idea. The biggest thing for an inverted triangle is going to be to ensure you have the support you want for your chest.
BOYSHORTS OR ROMPERS
My best tip with this body shape is to add volume to your hips and legs rather than your chest.
You could also look into a lingerie romper. This will add volume to your hips while also flattering your natural waist.
TRIANGLE / PEAR BODY TYPE
The triangle or pear body type means your chest and waist measurements are smaller than your hip measurement. Women with this body type have amazing hips and curves that we'll definitely want to show off! We probably want to increase volume on the chest where we can.
If you're a pair shape, be sure the cut is high on your legs and accentuates your natural waist. Bodysuits that are cut to the naval can look amazing on this body type.
HOURGLASS BODY TYPE
This means that your waist measurement is smaller than your chest and hip measurements. Although all body shapes are beautiful, this is that classic feminine shape that most women aspire to.
BODYSUITS AND TEDDIES
A few things to keep in mind: be sure you have the support you want in the chest area and your natural waist is accentuated/complimented by the set you choose.
ROUND / OVAL / APPLE BODY TYPE
This means your chest and hip measurements are smaller than your waist measurement.
Most of the women I photograph mention their stomachs as areas of self-consciousness on their questionnaire - particularly those with an apple body type.
If you have an oval or apple body shape, you may be feeling some of the same apprehensions.
The good news is, there are plenty of outfits you can choose to minimize your stress around this area while helping you feel as amazing as you look!
ODYSUITS AND TEDDIES
Look for plunging necklines that will draw the eye up away from your stomach. Alternatively, you could opt for something with a lot of chest support that will also serve to draw the eye up and highlight your chest in your photos!
When looking at bodysuits, be sure to pay attention to the cut on the bottom. I will always and forever be a proponent of cheeky underwear for the most flattering option, but if you're really wanting to show off your booty, a thong can be a good choice as well.
CORSETS
This can be a great option for apple body types. The main caveat is to ensure it fits you properly! Not too tight and not too loose!
RECTANGLE BODY TYPE
This means your chest, waist, and hip measurements are all about the same. This is often an athletic body type, but not always. Often, I see moms with this body type after having children.
What I like to look for when dressing a rectangle body type is a plunging neckline (ideally down to the naval). At the very least, find something that will draw attention to your chest.
Something else to consider is a high cut on the legs and a cheeky, thong, or pretty back.
BRA AND PANTY SET
Bra and panty sets are another a great way to show off your torso and your beautiful hips.
You may want a push up bra to add volume to your chest, or you may just opt for a lighter option like a bralette.
My biggest piece of advice here is to be sure you're choosing underwear that only shows what you're comfortable with.
If you're worried about your lower stomach, consider an underwear with a little more coverage. If you love your lower stomach area, maybe opt for something with a little less coverage.
Always remember, if you don't think you look good in your outfit, it will show in your photos. So be sure to choose something you love!
CONCLUSION
All body types are beautiful and worthy of celebration through the art of boudoir. At the end of the day, my best advice is to wear what you feel good in!
If you love your outfit and feel like amazing in it, that will show and you will love how you look in your photos!

Most women I have worked with have felt a combination of being nervous and excited and that's perfectly normal. You've never posed in your underwear or nude, after all. Below are some of my recommendations to help you get ready and feeling great for your special day!
JOURNAL
Start writing those nervous thoughts down on paper and get them out of your head. Starting a journal is a good way to work through those nerves and reflecting on what you already love about yourself/body.BODY LANGUAGE AND POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
Believe it or not, your eyes are listening and body language tells a lot! If you notice that you slouch or curled up into yourself, make a conscious effort to stand up straight and tall with your shoulders back and your hands on your hips. That's right, just like Superman! Stand in front of a mirror and tell yourself SEVERAL times how beautiful you are! Make a list of at least 10 things that you like about yourself and read that list throughout the day, EVERY DAY!PAMPER YOURSELF BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Go get a mani pedi. Make sure to get a neutral color. I always suggest something like a soft white or soft pink. Even a french manicure will look great!READ A BOOK
Sitting down and reading a good book helps reduce stress.GET A MASSAGE
C'mon! We all know how GREAT a massage feels and how well it works for stress. Go get that stress rubbed right off you, girl!GO ON A DATE
Have your man take you on a romantic date with some good food and music to relax you. If you don't have a man, you could call on your bff and go have some coffee. -
If you're planning on doing your boudoir session as a gift, I recommend a physical boudoir photo album. A wrapped up thumb/flash drive just doesn't have the same effect as a gorgeous photo album.
CHOOSE A SECLUDED AND QUIET PRIVATE PLACE.
When you gift him the photo album, be sure to be there in person. You don't want to miss out on seeing his reaction to such a gorgeous and unique gift.
BRIDES
I've had many clients that have been brides. They want a wedding gift that will leave their groom speechless. You can tease him by sending a couple pics through text and then give him the full physical album on the morning of your wedding day or wedding night.

When it comes to choosing a location for your session, I would suggest to follow the advice of the photographer you choose! At the end of the day, these photos are about you. Not the location you choose. As for myself, I have a beautiful home that I use that belongs to a friend. The home is not lived in and very private, with many rooms to shoot in. The home has heat, air and showers.
YOUR HOME
Some boudoir photographers make house calls! While this is not a service I haven't done a whole lot, I would definitely consider doing that for you, if you feel more comfortable in your own home.
HOTEL ROOM
Some boudoir photographers work with hotels for their boudoir sessions. I have done this many times. There's a handful of hotels that look beautiful for boudoir sessions. Depending on the situation, this may be something I choose to do for your session or not.
AIR BNB
Some boudoir photographers work with Air BNBs or VRBOs for their boudoir sessions. If this is their usual preference, they may have a few different ones they shoot at regularly.
Pros: These can be really unique locations that come pre-decorated. There's also a lot of variety so you can find a place to use that suits your personality and provides beautiful light. You also have a full home to shoot in!
Cons: Many hosts don't like to rent out their homes to boudoir photographers. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find one that is willing to rent to a boudoir photographer.
I myself have done quite a few sessions in different Air BNB. Some have some really awesome themes and make for a spectacular setting. If you choose to do a themed Air BNB, this would be an added cost.
MOTHER NATURE
This is something I have also done quite a few times. I know of MANY secluded outdoor settings that make for a beautiful boudoir setting. If this is something that interests you, we can discuss that during the consult.

I get it. We're all working on a budget. We have limited financial resources and most of us can't just drop a few thousand dollars on a random photoshoot for no reason out of the blue!
But boudoir photography isn't just any random photoshoot.
Boudoir photography is an investment. If you're going to invest money into a luxury service like boudoir photography, you probably want to know "why is boudoir photography so expensive?
In this blog post, we'll delve into the factors that contribute to the cost of boudoir photography and why it's worth every penny for the ladies who choose to invest in this empowering experience.
PERSONALIZED AND DETAILED EXPERIENCE
Boudoir sessions are not like other more traditional portrait sessions. There is a lot more that goes into a luxury boudoir photography service. You'll get an optional consultation before your session. You'll get information on what to wear and what photographs best. Some boudoir photographers offer client closets of lingerie pieces for you to wear. You'll also get information on how to prepare for your session.
You'll have the chance to fill out a questionnaire that helps your photographer know what you want to highlight and minimize, and other information needed to tailor your session to YOU!
Your boudoir photographer is available to answer questions and offer advice leading up to the session.
The day of your session, you'll be pampered by a professional hair and makeup artist. Then you'll be guided through posing from your fingers to your toes! Your boudoir photographer will guide you through every step!
Your images will be retouched with more attention to detail than a standard portrait session and your photographer can design a cohesive and beautiful boudoir album for you to take home at the end of your experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE AND SKILL
When you're hiring a good boudoir photographer, you are investing in a highly specialized professional with experience, honed talent, and extensive knowledge.
Boudoir photography is very different from normal portrait photography. It requires a very different set of posing and lighting skills from your photographer.
Many good portrait photographers are intimidated and out of their comfort zone if you ask them to dabble in the world of boudoir photography. Your images and your experience will be much better with a photographer who specializes in boudoir photography.
Boudoir photography is like most other things in life, you get what you pay for. If you want to have an incredible luxury boudoir photography experience with stunning retouched photos, you can expect a luxury price tag.
If you want to think about it from your photographer's perspective, you'll see that no boudoir photographer can afford to charge $200 per session for a service that involves so much time, personalization, and attention to detail. If they did, they would have to book 200+ sessions a year just to make $40k (before factoring in business expenses). And if they were to shoot 200 boudoir sessions in one year at that rate, there is no way they would have the time or creative capacity to give you a luxury experience without getting burned out.
PRICELESS TRANSFORMATION
As we've already established, boudoir photography is different from other genres of photography. It is an intimate form of photography, yes. But the real power of boudoir photography is it's ability to transform your perception of yourself for the better.
You'll leave a good boudoir experience with a newfound sense of confidence and appreciation for your beauty.
Boudoir photography is an emotional experience for many of the ladies I work with and I've had happy tears during reveal sessions. Some women have never felt beautiful in their lives before coming to their boudoir experience.
Boudoir photography is fighting back against the negative voices in your head. Boudoir photography is about literally showing you that you don't have to change a thing about yourself to be beautiful.
So you tell me, how much is feeling at home and beautiful in your own skin worth to you? Some would say that feeling is priceless.
-
Your photos will ALWAYS remain private and only available for those whom you choose to view them. The women you see on this website has signed a release form for me to use them for promotional purposes. If you decide you don't mind me using a few photos from the session on this website, you will be required to sign a release form.

While I don't have any policies against bringing ONE supportive friend with you to your boudoir session. I don't usually don't recommend it.
Having a third person at the session, changes the dynamic.
Instead of solely being able to focus on making you look beautiful and getting as many gorgeous images as we can during your session time, there's another person there to think about.
You might find yourself wondering about your friends opinion on a pose or whether your friend is having a good time during your session.
Having a friend there can often be a distraction to you and your photographer.
Boudoir is an investment in YOU and having another person there will shift the focus that should be completely on you off of you in some way, shape, or form.
It is better for you to focus on yourself and getting comfortable with your photographer without worrying about what another person was thinking or doing or feeling during the session.
If you'd still like to bring a friend to the session, I would ask that the friend remain out of the room/area we will be shooting in, while we're shooting.
